| .ariake camp
This is the center of Ariake Pack's land: a clearing sheltered by oak trees which shadow over the bramble walls into the camp. Dens of various materials - brambles, rocks, the shelter of an overhanging tree - are situated on the dusty earth floor and a few boulders sit here and there as if dropped from Ichimu Pack. The most sheltered place in Ariake's territory.

| .the river
The river that runs through Ariake territory. Willow trees hang over the glittering water. For any wolves who have skillful paws, the fish here would make a good snack. In summer the water is pleasantly cool, perfect for a drink or swim - but be warned, as winter sets in the water grows icy and the current grows treacherous with rain.

| .the gorge
The river veers to the left from Ariake and Kidama's border and as it hurtles over a hill its waters begin to churn and grow fiercer as they tumble into the gorge, a steep, rocky precipice hung with moss and gnarled trees with the river flowing beneath it. Many wolves have sustained injuries before because they don't look where they're putting their paws!

| .oak woods
The majority of Ariake Pack's territory is made up of these woods. Most of the trees are thick-trunked oaks, but other trees mingle in too. The river and plants make it a perfect place for prey and Ariake's main hunting spot. In the summer the sun filters through the trees making in pleasantly warm, and in winter the leaves are stripped from bare, snow-coverered branches.

| .territory border
This is Ariake's border with the Kidama and Yuugure Packs. On Kidama's side a long stream stretches all the way through the center of both territories, marking the border as well as the scent marks laid there, and with Yuugure the oak trees diminish to be replaced by moorland, the border thoroughly marked by Ariake's scent.

| .kidama pack
The heart of Kidama Pack's territory: a slight dip in the ground of their pine forest and an absence of trees, surrounded by old, sturdy pine logs draped in brambles to keep our intruders, makes up their camp. Dens are made up of various brambles, logs and the occasional tree and the floor is earth with patches of grass near the camp wall and the dens.

| .the rocks
Near the top of Kidama's territory sits a cluster of enormous boulders, lying randomly in a small area of trees. Near the leafy ground they are encrusted with moss and lichen, but for a nimble-footed wolf who can climb to the top, the rocks are smooth and soak up the sun - a perfect place to relax.

| .pine copse
As important to Kidama Pack's survival as the Oak Woods are to Ariake's, the Pine Copse is the main part of their land. It includes the Camp and the Rocks, and the towering, shadowy pine trees are often home to herds of deer and the occasional boar. The pine trees never loose their leaves, often meaning Kidama are more prey-rich than Ariake when winter comes around.

| .streams
As the pine trees begin to grow sparcer and farther apart, near the southern end of Kidama's territory, the stream that seperates this territory with Ariake's branches off into a myriad of little brooks, twisting and winding their way through a large clearing in the woods, creating little marshy islands. A perfect place to splash about and for pups to play when they're out of the nursery.

| .territory border
This area is the teritorry border with Ariake Pack and Yuugure Pack. Pine trees face oak trees on the Ariake border, which is a babbling stream, and on the Yuugure Pack border the trees, already sparce, die away all together to make moorland, seperated by a line of often-renewed scent marks.

| .yuugure pack camp
The clearing in the moorland where Yuugure arrived what seems like seasons ago has become a busy, secure camp. The walls are constructed from the copious amounts of gorse on the moors, and so are several of the dens, as well as some being made from rocks and tree roots. The camp floor is short, coarse moorland grass.

| .ripple pond
An average sized pond situated in the heart of the moors, at the base of a small rise covered in heather. The surface is as smooth as a mirror except when the wind blows across it, causing the surface of the pond to rise in ripples, hence the name. Prey - and Yuugure Pack - often come here to drink or just soak up the calm atmosphere about the place.

| .scrubland
Not quite the moors and not quite the forest, the scrubland is an area of small trees - mostly ash and thorn - resilient enough to stand up to the tough weather on Yuugure's hills. Despite the fact all that grows here is coarse grass, heather and a leaf or two, prey is the richest in the territory here (though that's not saying much) and so it's Yuugure Pack's main hunting ground.

| .talltree
The biggest tree in Yuugure Pack's territory and indeed the whole of Running Hills, the Talltree is, as the name would suggest, huge. An ancient oak tree, its trunk is so wide four wolves can stand around it nose-to-tail and barely reach the other side. The sheltered hollow beneath it makes it a good place to train, and the training wolves whisper that the tree is haunted.

| .territory border
This long, relatively straight line of steadfast scent marks is the border with Ariake Pack and Kidama Pack. The trees grow thicker here on both sides, and the line of scent marks swings round to the right to mark the border with the rogue-and-loner-controlled moors, the Howling Place, and the Springs.

| NEUTRAL |
| .the moors
The most dangerous part of Running Hills, the moors are a series of rolling hills covered in heather. This territory is occupied by rogues and loners - most are no threat, but some can be death to any Pack wolf caught out here alone. Not a place for the faint-hearted - or for those without decent battle training.

| .howling place
A beautiful clearing surrounded by arching silver birch trees, where the moon glows down on the Packs as it rides to its highest point above the grass. Every full moon the three Packs come here to talk in peace about the events of the last moon.

| .the springs
Next to the Howling Place, surrounded by a small glade of willow trees, there is a bubbling pool of warm spring water. This place has some healing properties (see information inside) and wolves can go here if they're injured.
